How the power of your mind could be blocking your Joy
A 10 year old clients recent experience with a new friend could have seen her mind lock in her visions of her future in an unhealthy way.
Today I'm talking about how as kids we really engage in our imagination in wonderful ways...we constantly tell ourselves and others how we want our future to look...how we think it will look.
An example would be "I'm going to get married and have two kids and!! live in a big house on a hill"
Engaging in the imagination in this way is really fun and definitely part of our evolving process. It's super healthy to have a great and active imagination at any age let alone childhood.
It can become very unhealthy though, when the views of the imagination are taken up by the mind and locked in place.
The mind then takes ownership of the visions for happiness of the future and holds onto how that is meant to look.
It locks it in and becomes very ridgid. The mind then feeds this information into you on many different levels.
You can then spend so much time and energy trying to fulfill a vision of happiness that was set back when you were very young and one that you stopped really wanting long ago.
When you realise that this has been happening... that you've been aiming unconsciously for some version of happiness that no longer aligns with you...You are then free to cast aside the old visions and make new ones for yourself.
